Carnglaze has a range of habitats for study including -

Water

 - Springs which create streams: sometimes flowing, sometimes dry, and waterfalls over the old quarry face.

- Underground water which seeps through cracks in the rocks and collects underground in the pool and lake.

- Ponds and Marshy areas.

- 1/2 mile section of the River Loveny which passes through slate in a narrow ravine here before its confluence with the River Fowey at TwoWatersFoot. ~ simplfied maps and sections of the life of the River Loveny are avalible by request along with a localised diagram of the water cycle.
