the University
of
Southampton. It aims to give both ex and current
students an opportunity to perform great
music, socialise and keep in contact with each other, as well as to raise
money for charity.
The orchestra usually rehearse on the weekend of the concert and have
previously performed in London, Southampton and Bristol.
CSO will be conducted by Craig Lawton, who graduated
from the University of Southampton this year and who has worked with the
Southampton University Symphony Orchestra, the City of Southampton Orchestra and the Winchester
Symphony Orchestra.
The orchestra will be accompanied by a choir, also made up of Southampton
University students, and will perform a varied programme including the
Cornish National Anthem, and music from popular shows and musicals and
Pirates of the Caribbean.
All money raised will be donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance who are
celebrating their 21st birthday.
