Tours Underground
There are three caverns of cathedral proportions, hand created by local slate miners. During your tour you will go about 150m into the hillside and 60m below ground, via a flight of 60 steps. In the lower chambers you will find the subterranean lake with its crystal clear blue/green water. For much of the year you will be equipped to go on a self-guided tour of the three caverns but in high season guided tours may be in operation as there is a limit on numbers allowed in the lower caverns at one time.
The Caverns are at a constant 10°C, so a jumper and sensible footwear* are recommended.
* Flip flops are deemed sensible, if you wear them regularly!
