BUSINESS AS USUAL AT CARNGLAZE.
Yes, Cornwall and other areas have experienced some extreme weather over the past few weeks, however,here at Carnglaze we have come through unscathed. We are open as usual for self guided tours, with all areas available and accessible for our visitors. The only advice we would give is, do bring your wellies! stout boots or similar for the Woodland Walk.
The underground Caverns are unaffected and the lake is at normal levels. As the rainwater seeps through the ground to fill it, it has a natural outlet which prevents it from flooding the Cavern. Come and find out the unusual, but common sense way the miners kept the lake under control whilst working. As slate is a waterproof rock so it is nice and dry underground.

There have been some benefits, yes benefits, of the weather and rain as the natural waterfalls in and around the Woodland Walk are flowing well, producing a wonderful sight and sound.
The weather forecast for half term week is considerably better with even some sunny periods!
Come for a family time at Carnglaze and find out about the role Carnglaze played in Cornwall’s Mining Heritage along with what our young explorers were looking for. You may well need a coat rather than tee-shirt though!
